Communication

Parents need communication about what’s going on while their students are with us as much as our students need support and guidance in building communication skills.

Homeschooled students of any age are not assumed to be skilled in keeping track of their assignments and responsibilities–so we have a backup system in place that allows parents to monitor and provide as much supervision as necessary to help their students build executive function skills around managing assignments.

Our students also need to learn the art of direct, but respectful communication and self-advocacy.  That is reinforced in all of our students interactions.  The method used for our literature course also helps build evidence-seeking to support statements.
