illuminatED strives to collaborate with parents as well as give our students opportunities to learn to collaborate with other students. Working together is skill that will be much-needed in today’s culture and workforce.
We want to be sure that our parents are partners in the process of providing education to our students. Ensuring that we are on the same page with quarterly check-ins and ensuring availability and communication between then if/as needed are paramount to helping FAMILIES succeed in homeschooling.
Creating activities and assignments that show our students how to work with others in a variety of situations gives them a sheltered environment to learn this delicate skill. Through the development of our Science Olympiad team, we have a strong track record of leading students through the murky waters of working with others who differ from themselves in terms of work habits and goals as well as race or culture.
