For Fall 2021, illuminat-ED and it’s associated activities have made the hard decision to do masks for everyone regardless of vaccine status in accordance with CDC and IDPH guidelines. We will attempt to maintain distance of 3′ but we know this may not always be possible–especially in our science classes. So we will be mindful and careful, but unless IDPH mandates a minimum distance, we cannot guarantee this will be possible at all times. We WILL enforce a minimum 3′ distance for our discussion-based courses and activities where there is no active movement for work or collaborating, and clear masks that do not seal to the face will be allowed.
We understand that this is a controversial issue for some. We also understand that some students have sensory issues that make them unable to tolerate masking, and we ache for them. This is the only way for our small business to be able to move forward with the least amount of stress and chaos that we feel we can provide.
Please know that we are all doing our best in a time that is very difficult.
