Ready to start homeschooling but feeling overwhelmed? Kindergarten Club in Naperville with in-person class meetings once/week is a unique opportunity for parents of kindergartners/rising kindergartners to experience the joy of learning together under the guidance of our qualified elementary teacher with 14 years’ experience of homeschooling her own children! Parents will stay the first week and are encouraged to stay every week if they choose (but not required). See “Parent Considerations” for younger siblings in tow.  They will see how to create hands-on, creative and fun experiences to develop a lifelong love of learning. This is a great way to start your homeschooling journey within a supportive community.

Kindergarten Club

Students meet on Mondays, 10:00am – noon Registration is for 3 to 5-week intervals in Fall and Spring.  Class will be held the same day and time both semesters.  Families can attend a full year without repeating content.

Students will experience learning in a group setting, with whole-group, small-group and individual activities each week. Each week’s topic will include elements of language and math as well as enrichment activities such as science, art and engineering.

Required Materials
Each week, families should bring:

  • water bottle
  • peanut-free snack
  • indoor shoes starting in November
Time required outside of class
There are none required although you will come away with many ideas of potential follow-up activities!
Is This Level a Good Fit for My Child?
Students should be able to:

  • work and play alongside other children without issues
  • follow simple directions
  • attend to an adult directed task for at least 5 minutes
  • wait their turn
  • share, recognize, respect and respond to other people’s feelings
  • use words, not physical action, to express emotions such as anger

For parents who will not be staying after the first week, students must also be able to:

  • be able to use the bathroom independently and complete accompanying hygiene tasks
  • be able to separate from parent/caregiver without excessive distress, express feelings and needs
Parent Considerations
Please see “If This Level a Good Fit for My Child” section above. Younger siblings in tow are welcome to stay with the understanding that our facility is not child-proofed and the parent is responsible for supervision. If after the first week you intend to drop your child off, they should be able to separate from parent/caregiver without excessive distress, express feelings and needs, and be able to use the bathroom independently and complete accompanying hygiene tasks
